Welcome to Mortal Mirror! Before you begin your adventures on the site and start creating characters, we ask you read through this board. Within this board are several threads of utmost importance. They contain the site laws, the shadowhunter code, a guide to the site as well as in-character knowledge like the Downworlders, demons, and runes for the Shadowhunters. The Accords, both formed in the books and on the site itself, and a 'Get To Know The Admins' thread are here. If you pay close enough attention, you'll also found the code word, a very important tidbit for getting your first character accepted on the site!

Character Creation

You've read all you need to in the New Members board. Now it's time to create your first character. Congratulations! Before posting a thread, we ask that you first take a look at our character application thread. Within it are the guidelines for posting your character (how to title your thread, the laws for character creation) as well as the different templates for your character. These are sectioned off by species: Shadowhunters, Warlocks, Werewolves, Vampires, Seelie, Unseelie and Mundanes. Pay extra attention before you post!

The Shadow World

Rosters

Shadowhunters Warlocks Vampires Werewolves Seelie Unseelie Mundanes

Once your character has been approved, they'll be moved into one of the subboards within this one, as well as linked upon the featured roster thread for your character's respective section. You will always be able to look upon these rosters to see who else is in your section, begin plotting between characters, and get an understanding of what may or may not be needed in each section. These rosters are regularly updated by the council members (section heads) who maintain them. If you have any questions, feel free to message Sinful or Stark!

The Institute

There are no sub-boards within this board.

The Institute is said to look like an old gothic cathedral. As it is covered by a glamour, mundanes see the church abandoned and almost in ruins because of it. The Institute also has a glamoured brass plate next to the entrance—a set of double doors—with the Institute's name etched into it. The interior of the Institute is enormous, with several corridors and hallways adorned with arches. The nave of the Institute, still with its pews, is also well kept, with witchlight and tapers in candelabras as its main source of light. An asylum for Shadowhunters, it is their only safe place in a world where it's kill or be killed.

The Downworld

There are no sub-boards within this board.

The part of the Shadow World mainly inhabited by Downworlders (warlocks, werewolves, vampires, seelie, unseelie), it's a section of the city that, while looking no different, is very rarely visited by the Nephilim due to the Accords. A sanctuary for the Downworlder who desires no quarrel with the Shadowhunters who patrol its perimeter, life moves on without issue. For the Downworlder who has tired of following the Accords, however... Life is very different.

Idris

There are no sub-boards within this board.	Idris Located in Central Europe, between Germany, France and Switzerland, Idris is the Shadowhunter home country, a sanctuary hidden from mundanes, given to them by the Angel Raziel. Its capital, and only city, is Alicante. The country is said to be surrounded by mountains with passes which can only be traversed through during high summer.

A board consisting of rosters similar to the character rosters listed above, the Occupations board is open to both mundane characters and downworld characters. You're free to open your own business for your character or have your character apply to work at someone else's business.

PLEASE NOTE: There is a maximum limit of 15 businesses currently. When we reach that limit, posting new business rosters will be prohibited, but applying to pre-existing businesses will not be.

We know what it's like. One minute you're vowing how you'll only make one character, but soon enough you're landed with 70. We're here for all of that! However, we understand it can get a bit confusing and messy trying to keep your ducks in a row without some help. Thus, the Trackers board. Simply post a thread for yourself (one thread per user please!) and you can list your characters, including extra details about them that aren't listed in the character applications, as well as plots for them. It can make plotting with others much easier as well! [;
